ABOUT
Over a thousand artisans across Rwanda and Ghana, including one hundred fifty refugees at two refugee camps, collaborate with this non-profit organization to create brightly colored and boldly patterned baskets.
The artisans use natural fibers indigenous to Rwanda and Ghana and source the materials from local markets.
They earn fair, consistent wages for their work. On average, they earn forty percent of the wholesale price compared with just five to ten percent in normal wholesale structures. The non-profit organization invests all of their profits into women’s business education and vocational training in Rwanda, so women can build and sustain their own livelihoods.
