ABOUT
With a BA in fashion design, this designer strives for the balance between shape, texture, color and structure. She has been working with her partner in leather manufacturing since 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa.
They create handbags made from byproduct leather and sailing rope offcuts that are too short for use on boats. They make every bag themselves, averaging about four a day.
They focus on building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with their suppliers to ensure consistent high quality. Leather is sourced from a tannery just outside of Cape Town and sailing rope is from just around the corner from their workshop. The brass hardware is made in Cape Town and the zippers are from Lesotho.
