We recommend removing jewelry while swimming, bathing, exercising, hand washing and when using hand sanitizer. Soaps can lead to a build-up of a film on your jewelry. Chlorine is damaging to jewelry and repeated exposure can cause it to break. Store in a fabric-lined jewelry box or pouch.

Teardrop Ring

More than two thousand three hundred jewelry makers, in over two hundred eighty workshops across Kenya are connected through a custom-built mobile app. Instead of a centralized factory, this company found a way to work with individual artisans across Kenya as a “virtual factory”.

When the company receives an order from KEENTU, they distribute the production order to the artisans through the app. The artisans source their own materials including recycled brass (anything from old doorknobs to used jewelry), and byproduct cow horn and bone to make this Teardrop Ring. This highly efficient system allows the jewelry makers to earn more than five times the average artisan salary in Kenya.

As a certified B-corp, the company upholds the highest standards of verifiable environmental and social responsibility to balance profit and purpose.
