Leather Backpack

Stylish and luxurious in color and feel, this Leather Backpack is made from upcycled materials. The leather is a byproduct of the food industry and the thread is made from recycled tires.

After graduating ten years ago from the Leather Products Technology Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the lead craftsman of this workshop started making handbags with just one sewing machine in his parents’ house. The workshop now employs ten people.

After experimenting with hides from different tanneries, the leather is now sourced from the Batu Tannery that uses only byproduct cow hides. They produce full grain leather appreciated for its softness, high cutting value (usable area) and the beautiful way it ages.
